What is Acne?
There are misconceptions that acne is caused by bad diet or poor hygiene. In actual fact, the majority of the time acne is caused by a hormone called androgen, which leads to the over-production of sebum in the sebaceous glands in our skin. This leads to excess oil production which clogs the pores and causes breakout and congestion,which eventually becomes Acne.

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid derived from the metabolism of salicin- an extract from willow. It is found in many skin care product and is known as a wonder ingredient due to its powerful beneficial effect on treating acne, congestion and blemishes. It has been proven to reduce swelling and unblock congested pores which are often associated with acne and acne prone skin. It is even used in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis by loosening dry, scaly damaged skin cells.
