Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and UV exposure for at least four to six weeks after the treatment. This is crucial to prevent skin damage and pigmentation changes. If you need to go outside, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and wear protective clothing.
Keep the area cool: If you experience any redness or discomfort after the treatment, you can apply a cool compress or ice pack wrapped in a cloth to the area. This can help reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.
Avoid Hot Baths and Showers: For the first 24-48 hours after your treatment, avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, and hot tubs. Refrain from activities that may cause excessive sweating, such as vigorous exercise or hot yoga, for 24-48 hours after your session. Sweat can irritate the treated skin.
Skip Exfoliation: Avoid using harsh exfoliants, scrubs, or loofahs on the treated area for about a week after your session. Exfoliating too soon can irritate the skin. After a week, you can gently exfoliate to help the treated hairs shed.
No Plucking or Waxing: Do not pluck, wax, or use hair removal creams on the treated area between sessions. These methods remove the hair follicle, which is the target for laser hair removal. Shaving is the only acceptable method for hair removal between sessions.
If you experience any unusual or prolonged side effects, such as excessive redness, blistering, or signs of infection, contact your laser technician or dermatologist promptly.
